I have got to figure out how to put the pictures in the blog with the information they cover. The problem is Scott is always waiting for me to get off the computer so he can check the news - or maybe I could figure it out. But then again, probably not!
Usually throughout the entire week we study scriptures, Spanish, keyboard then study more and take care of the business end of tracking the stakes and wards and who has musical talent to teach others in their wards, then study more. The break we have is actually going out and visiting the different areas meetings to do the basic training.
We did go to visit the Ottosons today and while there rode the elevator up to the ninth floor where the murder took place. The Taiwanese forensics team has been carrying evidence out of the apartment for the last couple of days. The hallway is about 5 ft by 8 ft and none of it is roped off. There are blood smears all over the floor, on the wall, on the door; and a tiny yellow ribbon tied around the door handle. I'm not sure how long it has been but surely they could clean up the hallway. There must not be anyone living in the apartment next door or surely they would have complained!
Today though we have had a lot of company, which has been good because it has been one of those homesick days for me. Sister Yterralde's daughter had been here for six days and just left last night so she was depressed and came to visit this morning and stayed to have lunch with us. The Eickbushes called to see if we wanted to go to the book fair. We had already been so they came and parked their car in our parking area while they went. Then they came in to visit on their way back and stayed for an hour or so. They told us that the restaurant across the street was a good place to eat- that one where all of the noise is on weekends- so we decided to go check it out tonight. It actually was good! We had plantains (green bananas) that they must have soaked in vinegar. They tasted like salt and vinegar chips but better. My Rollo Pollo was the best of the food we had. It was chicken rolled with bacon and mushrooms and some kind of a sauce. The nice thing is if you go before 6:30 at night you are the only ones there because they all start coming out about 8:00.
