5/17/2012

This was supposed to be a busy day - and it was a bit.  We decided  to go to Price Mart and get another printer and some things we needed.  So we studied until 10:00 am and left to shop. We thought Tati was coming for a lesson this afternoon but she wasn't here and when we got hold of her she said she had thought it was next week.  So finally found the missionaries to tell them not to come today.
Today was the big march/parade for Danillo - one of the candidates for president.  It must have been fairly calm because when we came home tonight there were drums, cars, etc but not worse than usual. The church here has warned everyone to stay off the streets as much as possible for the next five days. To avoid violence they have one candidate's march today and the other on Saturday.  We'll see what happens.
After Spanish class we went to the temple.  There were ten or more new young elders that were going through for the first time.  They were from South America and were coming here to serve their missions.  They do not look like most of the people here - they were of Indian descent.  Some were from Peru so Scott had the privilege of helping them.  It was such an endearing experience.
