It has been a cloudy kind of a day - which is great because it keeps the heat down. However, the humidity is worse but I prefer the humidity to that scorching sun!
I decided to cook a favorite meal for mothers day so we had to go shopping. When we came back out there was a man with a cart full of sugar cane by our car. He was stripping off the outer covering and cutting it in pieces to sell. We stopped and bought some from him. They bite it off and chew it until the juice is gone then spit out the pulp. We saw several of the guards for the store chewing on it as we left. In fact there is one in the background in the picture. We cut off some pieces and tried it when we got home. The juice tastes like sugar water - which it is. The guards downstairs were thrilled to eat the rest of it.

William, one of the new guards was supposed to come today to watch "Our Heavenly Father's
Plan" but got held up with some project so hopefully he will come tomorrow. Scott thinks he is the nicest guy. He was very excited to get a Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is an amazing book. Every time I read from it I can't believe anyone would think some kid was capable of making up that history. I just hope to learn many things from the experiences the Nephites and Lamanites had so I won't have to learn from making so many mistakes myself!
